You are the breath of fresh air of my warm spring morning... I want spring to come!
So today was metaphoricaly a twinkie - cruddy cake on the outside, but nice in the middle. Yes, so I'll list my gripes chronologically.
I woke up this morning and what was on the front page? Blumenthal asking for the government to shut down Indian Point. And what shall we do after that Blumenthal? How shall we employ those who'll be out of a job? How will we supply power to those who relied on the nuclear power? What are our alternatives? Let's see now, we have fossil fuel. Of course, fossil fuel is getting rarer as it is, and damages the environment much more than the lack of radiation going around. And we're afraid of Chernobyl? Well let's see, there is a VERY big difference between Chernobyl and Indian Point. Mainly Chernobyl had a reactor sorta out in the open. Indian Point has theirs enclosed in VERY thick walls and in the ground. An airplane may actually get through the wall, but I doubt that anyone would actually try that. And evacuation procedures? Well, Blumenthal, if you don't like theirs, I'd like to see your wonderful idea.
And my lovely afternoon was spent doing embroidery, sipping hot cocoa, crying over A.I. and kinda giving Bourne Identity wacky looks.
And my evening...oooooo, how much do you guys love sitting in front of the computer doing somebody else's work? I'll just leave it at that since the person whose work I'm doing got pissed off and decided to essentially hang up on me.

You are the rosin of my bow. String people only on that one.
Which brings to mind my violin life. Maybe I'm destined to just teach beginners. I seem to do a pretty good job being that both my students have been selected for All-city! I have credentials!!!! Poor guys, I'm going to be such a terror.
As for today, it was very busy since we were competing. I'm very sore now. One of the girls couldn't go because her grandfather died, so we were going crazy fixing things for competition. And I think we pulled off things very well, with a few minor things. But I believe we should've been second place. Darn us having to be first up. But yeah, we were tied for third...
What else to brag about? I am a nominee for Presidential Scholar - that means I'm one of the top 40 scorers of SATs in the state. Apparently Mr. Arminio is ecstatic. Isn't it nice what a fluke can bring? I didn't actually aim for 1570, it just kind of fell into my lap. Is that fair? I'm not sure it is. So many of those other students are hardworking people who study all day and night just to do well in school, and I'm more of a "sleep on it" sort of person...Still, to think that some of those stupid rich snobs who make fun of our school won't get a chance to go because of me is quite...amusing. Immensely amusing.
Speaking of rich snobs who think our bathrooms smell bad, I wonder how they would've reacted to the flood on Friday? Not only did the bathroom smell of bathroom, but so did the entire fourth floor. It was fun watching water pour into the classroom. I quite enjoyed floating origami boats in the puddles in the corner...though my AP Physics teacher didn't seem too pleased that we were doing that during class.

You are the quarterback of my football team. I think I'll just go into other subjects...
So this weeked was quite lovely. Western regionals came up and it was GREAT! We sounded almost professional, and I can honestly say that the conductor, Mr. Peltz I think, is the best conductor I've had the honor of working under thus far. I hope I get to be in more orchestras like that. I saw my penpal from the fifth grade there. He was surprised, and I was surprised he remembered me. Small world... Well, I won't go into detail, since there were still a lot of bad things about the people ...stupid rich snobs....but hey, I'm going to be nice and try not to ruin the mood too much.
And then I went out with my buddy and her buddies and that was lots of fun! Though I realized a lot of my sentences started with, "My cousin this" or "My friend that." Geez, I have no life at all. And the words "I" and "my" still come up way too often in conversations. Still need to figure out a way around that...
What else...hmmm...o yeah, the utter frustration of making portfolios. I already sent in my portfolio for Syracuse, and Rice (2 weeks overdue) is going out tomorrow. Cornell still has some time left, so I think I'll find more to add.

You are the msg of my chinese food. Hmmm...I seem to be running out of ideas....
I got to see Two Towers finally! Whoopee! And I've come to a realization that it isn't Orlando Bloom that me and possibly a great many of my acquaintances are absolutely smitten with, but rather Legolas. Without the long blond hair and the outfit and the bow and arrows, he's just not as attractive. Oh well. And what was really nice was a snow day today, so it's like I'm still on vacation. I should've been hammering out some good pieces of art, but me and my procrastination...well, you know. Maybe I don't deserve to get into college because of that...
