I miss my childhood movies... By those I mean the ones by Hayao Miyazaki. Castle in the Sky is probably my all time favorite movie. Such scenery! Such imagination! I can't wait till it comes out with english translations!
O, here's my satire from english class. I like it a lot so now I will infect the world with my ravings. This essay is Not to be taken seriously. After all, I am a lunatic.
Separation of Church and School
Isn’t it lovely how people have been raising such a stink about including the phrase “Under God” in the pledge of allegiance? Pandemonium ensues and groups of outraged lawmakers and die-hard atheists get heart palpitations at the thought of something as sacred as the Pledge of loyalty to our grand country being questioned. And yet through the sweat and toil and several coronary bypasses, the Church prevailed and the Church and State remain in wedlock. But hey, let’s not stop at this minor endorsement of Christianity my brethren. My fellow Americans, have I got a deal for you!
Since this great nation has felt the need to include God in such common matters as currency and pledges – and school holidays as well, shouldn’t we go further? Let’s not be hypocritical and hide our true feelings now, shall we? It’s assumed that by agreeing to say “Under God” we all absolutely 100% agree that God has something to do with the existence of America. Shouldn’t we make sure to celebrate that in our all-American all-religious-encompassing way? Yes, I mean, let’s not stop by celebrating Christmas with a nice long vacation and calling it “Winter Break.” Let’s step out of our confessional booths and announce our loyalties. We love religion!
And how do we let everyone know we love religion? Celebrate, of course! Shut down the schools, bolt the teller windows, we’re going to party for every holiday of every religion. Christmas, Feast of All Saints, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, hurray! And don’t forget the Jews! Chanukah, Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah, mazel tov! And all the others! In Japan, everyday is a holiday! O, and let’s not forget the Islamic Ramadan – united we stand, us Americans, and united we bow to Mecca five times a day!
Yes my fellow Americans, let us join our hands in prayer and express our devoutness to religion. No longer shall we lurk in the shadows and whisper our prayers. We will shout our love for God, Allah, Yahweh, or what have you from the rooftops and everyday we will feast and not eat pork or beef, for that wouldn’t be religious, now would it? Oy vey, I’m parched – excuse me while I drink some sacramental wine – oops, I mean the blood of Christ.
O and just a few more notes on what's been going on in my life - I got a 222/260 on my violin audition which means I'm most likely in the western regional orchestra. Congratulate me.
And also, give a prayer or do whatever it is you do for your religion or lack thereof for Michael Dang of Stamford who died in a car accident on Tuesday night.
